This is a truly life-altering advancement! At the risk of getting (WAY) too personal, I must confess that this post brought a salty tear to my eye. Since the dawn of my time, I have been feared, avoided, scorned and ridiculed because of my stinky feet! Sign me up, I am ready to plug-in!
Ahh, it brings a tear to my eye too... imagine the newfound cyborgian freedom from the evil tyranny of the washing machine: you could wear that shirt indefinately (especially if little teflon nanoparticles repelled the stains of spilled coffee and booze and various fluids I'm too delicate to mention). Clearly, cyborg socks are also an issue of consideration in terms of the future cultural politics of homemaking.
