You can get an automatic 6-month extension on your deadline to file. However, if you expect to owe anything, that money is due on Tuesday. Here is a link:
It's a very simple form, basically just names, socials and estimates of what you owe. Just mail it in along with payment (if any), postmarked by the 17th.

Just like samylaine said "PUT UP A FIGHT" After you have been in the hospital for sooooo long then your just at risk of picking something else up and they just do soooo much better at home in their own environment. It is also easier to get the essentials done at home. I won't sugar coat the fact that when your in the hospital with your little one life gets out of whack. When we were in for half of the month in January it felt like it took me a month to get things back to the norm.It is so tough when you and your husband are like two ships passing and it can be tough to stay sane when your so drained. I even forgot to pay bills, But you know your little babe is more important than any bill, laundry, or cleaning. It will still be there when you have the time for it. Just work on getting home. I really hope your work understands too! MAKE SURE YOU EAT AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER. It will help. Love Heather, Jeremy and Miss Marley

Okay, how beautiful is that look Eden is giving Holland? I just love the way she tilts her head when she is really focusing on something. I think she had the same look a few weeks ago in a photo when John was reading to the girls! So precious. Here it looks like she is saying, "Holly, is everything okay, I have been so worried about you"...PRECIOUS!! Sending love and many thoughts of Holly coming home soon. AK

As for the taxes, you can file an extension but any tax that you owe is still due. If I recall (and it's been a while) I thought that if you paid 90% of last year's tax or 100% of this year's taxes then you didn't owe a penalty. The house can wait and as for work, you do the best you can. Sometimes, the IEPs have to wait. We had to post pone Dear Son's IEPs for quite a while last year and we have ours tomorrow.
I sure hope everybody is better soon. I know all about stress...had to go to the chiroprator today because I couldn't move my neck due to the stress. Joy. I'm praying for you.

Thanks for all of your thoughtful suggestions on the taxes. I am happy to report that we were able to check that one off our list. My Aunt Barb works for H and R Block. I thought that we'd waited too long, and that she would be too busy, but it actually worked out for me to run over there today. She whipped out our return in no time, and I left feeling like at least one weight had lifted. I also learned a few things...

Oh, and a great big giant THANK YOU to my sister and her kids who came over and cleaned my house. They did a few loads of laundry (thanks Kim and Marion!), emptied and reloaded the diswhasher(thanks Mitchell!), and vacuumed (thanks Matt!).
Also THANK YOU to my mom and dad who kept my poor sick Eden today and took such good care of her so that John and I could spend a little time together...even if it was in the hospital.
Oh, and thank you to my boss and coworkers for being SO kind and understanding, and rallying to help me out with a few of my cases so I can return to work (hopefully next week) with a little less stress.
We're not going home tomorrow. I think it might be a stretch to say we'll be home by the weekend. Sigh.

[Image] We're still here... We had one doctor today tell us that Holland might go home tomorrow, and another tell us Tuesday. I'm guessing more like Tuesday...maybe Wednesday.
Holly has been able to go pretty much all day without oxygen, but needs just a whiff when she is sleeping. Interestingly, I asked one of the docs under what circumstances they would send her home with O2 at night. His response was "under no circumstances." So, if all she needs is a whiff of O2 at night for the next year, I guess we'll be living here.
Holland still has a bit of a cough, that gets worked up if she is very active or upset, but overall she is happy, energetic, and entertaining.
John and I traded off last night, and I stayed the night at home with Eden. After two terrible nasty sick days, she had a pretty good night, and was in a sweet mood for most of this morning. I brought her to the hospital to visit with her sis for a couple of hours, and that was really fun until they both started to melt down at the same time. Then Daddy had to whisk Eden away to take her home for another treatment and Tylenol. Now they are both sleeping.
[Image] Meanwhile, Daddy and I are both exhausted, physically and emotionally. We haven't slept in the same bed for 7 nights, and haven't had conversation that didn't revolve around our children's health in just as long. Our taxes aren't done and we don't know what to do about it... There are bills to be paid. The laundry and dishes and and basic maintenance of the house has piled up. I am supposed to go to work on Tuesday. I have kids to test, and IEP's waiting. Parents and teachers are getting frustrated because they have to keep changing meetings because of me and I feel bad. It's going to take a couple of weeks for us to get things sorted out, and to get our lives back to some semblance of normal.

As for the taxes, you can file an extension but any tax that you owe is still due.
