At least watermelon makes you think cooler! We've just gotten to Maine where the hot is replaced by cool, almost cold at night.
I love the Zen quote AND hearing from you.

If I can't have ice cream I will gladly take watermelon.

We had 3 days of those super high temps and now I am grateful for our 60 degree days. I would enjoy some mid to high 70s though.

I look at that mosaic and just feel envious. No warmth here yet. Last night we went to a dinner to honour our firemen - a dinner held outdoors, under a marquee. I nearly froze and had to come home to a hot bath and a pot of tea. Watermelon? Not for a while!

Watermelon looked better in the old days when it had all those black seeds in it, but it is much easier to eat now that it doesn't.

Great photos. I never tire of watermelon either. I could eat it every day.

We have only had a couple of days that got into the 90's so I'm loving our weather right now. I know the triple digits are coming but right now it's great.

Just looking at those images offers a cooling effect. I love watermelon. We keep a bowl of cut pieces in our refrigerator to snack on. It's the perfect treat on a hot day, and believe me are certainly having our share of HOT days. I'm tired of summer already too! ~ sarah

Now THAT's refreshing!

You probably don't want to know that we woke up to 40 degrees on the old thermometer this morning and that parts of the high mountains got 6" of snow.

No, I won't tell you and make you sad.
