When I think of my childhood visits to the zoo, it is the giraffes I remember most. We could feed them then, and I was fascinated by their long dark tongues. What a wonderful experience for your grandson.

Great pictures, and reminds me of one I have of me, Washington Park Zoo (now called Oregon Zoo), with my dad holding me up to feed one of the giraffes. My parents said that a woman standing next to them could not believe that they'd allow me "to feed such a dirty animal". lol

Every time I look at that photo I think of that story. lol
