At this time of year my favorite is the hyacinths which start to appear in the local grocery store floral departments. I have not purchased one yet but will next month. Love their sweet and heady scent :)
Exactly what I like about blogsville . . . when I least expect, I meet someone new and I feel delighted.

Love your horse....and a deep blue flag iris, the ones that are purple midnight blue are so gorgeous they do indeed make me overlook other florwers. xox
I love purple flowers- that color just calls to me. It must be warm where you are...it was in the 20s yesterday, and now this morning a hot 46 degrees! Whoo- hoo...
I love your Year of the Horse card! You have such great style and creativity. :-)
Irises are special to me, too. I always think of a great-aunt who had a whole garden of them when I was a child. My mother and I would visit and walk up and down the rows, admiring the beauty. Good memories.
It is very hard for me to say what my favorite flower is for I love them all. I do know that I look forward most of all to the lilacs in the spring, for I love their scent. Roses are beautiful, iris and peonies are also at the top of the list, too. I can't decide! Happy Friday to you!
What a great blog header .... I love Victorian anything! As for flowers ... I have a soft spot for daisies. Have a great weekend. Diane @ thoughts and shots
i should say there are no flowers i dislike. but if i had to pick - i would say my most fav are daisies. they look like they are smiling & are too cute. ( :
Your horse card is really cool looking. Oh that little angle and those snowmen made me smile. I'm ready though for spring too. I don't think I've every met a flower I didn't like. I just started growing Iris a couple of years ago, they are lovely.
Purple Irises always remind me of the walkway to my grandmothers farmhouse, I would say Zinnias would be at the top of my list, as my grandmother also introduced me to them, and allowed me to plant a flower garden full of them. Thank you for sharing. Sue
Your post made me smile. I love the angel and snowmen. I used to have a favorite flower -- the daisy -- but now I love so many I can't decide. The purple iris are lovely!
I love all flowers and when spring hits and I spy anything pink, yellow, orange, green, purple...I get so very excited. LOVE all flowers!!!!!

First things first.
Happy Lunar New Year!
Welcome to the Year of the Horse.

I made several of these for a postcard swap.

I've spent most of the icy days catching up on the television shows I've missed.
I'm now caught up with CASTLE.

Speaking of icy - how about another Snowman?!

This little angel may be as tired of winter as the rest of us are.
I think she's helping them melt!
No artist listed but there was a suggested 1939 publishing date.
Thank you to Beth for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday.

Do you have a favorite flower?
I love roses and daisies are such a happy flower.
But there is something about the iris.
It calls to me.

What is it about irisesin the gardenwhether blue flag or yellow, deep purple, white with redwhy do they catch the attention, the imaginationmore than lesser blooms?A certain allurethat Georgia O'Keefe didn't tainta beauty that draws you in to ponder and marvel ona delicacy that is realbut a perennial that wears wellthe seasons in New England toobitter cold and short summerswhether in bog or flower bed. ~Raymond A Foss *****

It's time forĀ "Spring" baseball practice.
Even the umpires have to get their practice before the season starts.
The Owls will start the season in California against the Stanford Cardinal.
Go OWLS!

Thanks, Nancy!
Wishing YOU well and much joy!

I love carnations. They smell pretty and they are cheap. In the garden I love Poppies and coneflowers.

Your Year of the Horse postcard is wonderful! Anyone would be delighted to have one.
I love the little angel with the snowmen but to me the snowmen look a little menacing. No wonder she's melting them.
