Good Afternoon Snap, We are reversing our roles.... I am coming out of Winter hibernation and looking forward to warmer weather and you are going into hibernation because of the hot weather in your part of the world. When I am in hibernation mode, I tend to be more creative, because when the Summer arrives I want to spend time gardening, so creativity tends to be put on the back burner. Hope the kitties are settling down to the loss of their chairs. Best Wishes Daphne
I love Tracy Chevalier books, I shall pick this one up. Our basil plant needs trimming and pesto would be great, We also do a parsley pesto which lovely...will the kitties need to scratch the new chairs to make them their own again?
Just spent the morning organizing knitting for the summer. What to take and what to leave?? I always take too much and it is very apparent that I do not need to buy any more yarn.
One of the first things I shall do up north is get my basil plants! Pesto is a summer staple.

Summer hibernation sounds heavenly - a good book and a hammock, doesn't get much better than that. Wow - pesto from your garden, it will be a while yet before I have fresh basil. Enjoy!
Makin your own pesto, it will taste heavenly! The cats will follow you, no doubt. It is fun to have well used and well lived furniture around. That is what it is made for: to be used and utterly enjoyed by all! Happy day! Jacoba

It's Friday and time for This and That.

Thank you Nancy for hosting!
- I went out early this morning into the garden, cut basil and back in the kitchen made pesto.
My mouth is watering!
- The kitties are upset.
They watched the kitchen chairs leave the house.
They love these chairs.
They are very comfortable for me and the kits.
I finally decided to get the chair seats recovered.
They were getting a little thread bare after 30 years.
The stuffing was leaking out.
(Sort of sounds like me!)
- It's getting hot and humid.
Summer has arrived.
I have plenty of books, yarn and other crafty things to do
as I enter my summer hibernation!
- The college baseball season is coming to an end.
Tomorrow is senior day -- time to say farewell to some fine young men.

-- I finished reading Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier and recommend it highly.
Two remarkable women, unconventional in a very conventional time (1820s), meeting and doing remarkable things -- like finding fossils.

Oh, I can understand the kitties being upset. They don't like changes, do they? I hope you enjoy the new chairs when they're done!
I tend to hibernate during the hot and humid days, too. I can stand the cold so much better than the heat.

yea the hot and humid thing is going on here in western pa as well yet only a few nights ago i was covering plants with a bedspread to avoid a freeze!
I don't want hot yet, ugh! :)
