People often insist that death is somehow necessary, as if life has no meaning without the Reaper stalking you down. I would like to test that assertion.
If others do not feel the same, that's fine with me. But they lose the right to complain when I live for 20,000 years and they live for 80.
personally i think that things must be finite in order be perceived. so yes, death does give life meaning and value. (if not death, then what?)
if you think your life could still have value after 20,000 years, hey, i hope you make it that far. but forever is a long-ass time.
i do believe in reincarnation though. maybe it's not all that different wanting to live forever.

Ok, maybe you won't quite be indestructible, but what if you could re-grow damaged limbs and organs? Sound like sci-fi? Well, scientists have already managed to give mice that ability. See: It's a miracle: mice regrow hearts
