582. Bookmarks

583. Nut, probably for an axle. You put a cotter pin through the axle or bolt, locked into those little tabs to keep it from spinning off.

584. Spokeshave, missing a handle?

586. Paint auger/stir for a drill

Both correct

>584. Spokeshave, missing a handle?

Nope

>586. Paint auger/stir for a drill

>585. Chain tightener - used on flatbed trailers.

Both of these are correct

>Squirrel Cage Fan?

It's a squirrel cage but it's not used as a fan.

>582. money clip

This one is too small and not strong enough to be a money clip.

>583. Castle nut

>585. Chain binder

Yes to both

>586. Squirel cage blower (inside view)

This one is not a blower

>584 - Some sort of cooper's draw knife for barrel making???

Nope

>584. Part of a tobacco chopper.

Yes, it's a chopper but I don't know if it's specifically for tobacco.

581. Inside measuring device, with it's holder. Not a micrometer, as it is marked in 1/16th increments.

582. Brass sheet bookmarks.

583. Crenelated nut.

584. Thought it was a funky drawknife, till I saw the second picture, showing the hole in the end. This makes it a block knife. In use, the hole is hooked onto a hook
screwed into a large block of wood (usually a large log or stump), allowing tremendous leverage to be applied at the cutting edge. Used for roughing shapes out of wood (like for wooden clogs).

585. Chain Boomer (at least, that's what we call it in Texas). For tightening chains (can also be used in running fencing).

586. Squirrel cage- I'm guessing for stirring paint.

It takes two full revolutions to go 1/16", and each revolution is divided into 30 increments. .0625/60 equals .001, so it is a micrometer though it doesn't appear to be one.

The rest of these are correct, though we call 583 a castellated nut.

585. a SNAP Boomer used to sucure loads. doesnt matter what kind of trailer. Leverage is the key, but a Ratchet boomer is safer and easier to use, pluss doesnt need retightend as often.
