yuck yuck and yuck, ants, oil and hands in oil. you are right, the barrel is probably worth a good bit. all that stuff in there is amazing.. maybe he put it there to keep the rust off? i love your permanent oil thongs, you can wear them and be barefoot at the same time

Wow, that is a lot of hard work! But every job well done has to start somewhere :) I love the company you had. Cute little frog.

That does look disgusting.
You have a lot of patience. I'd be tempted to just burn it to the ground.

Gail,

What's that old saying, oh yeah.....you're not cleaning until you have dirty hands :-)

Did hubby find the missing tool?

Sometimes fun to really get into your work, but be careful you don't get that muck on your rug!

I can see you have a 'little' work still ahead!

Good job with the oily stuff.

Our experience is if it is lost in the fields, it will never be seen again.............unless, of course, you mow over it sometime in the future.

Is that an old grinding stone?
I guess your dad put stuff in there to keep it from rusting?
Hubby is the same way. While mowing last week, I found two separate pieces of chain with hooks, and a length of cargo strap with hook attached. There is a nail puller we still haven't found, but did find a pair of fencing pliers last year.
You are braver than me. Whenever I try to organize hubby, it only works until he needs something. Good luck! :-)

Are you ever a dedicated searcher!! Not sure I would have tackled the oil barrel but at least those tools won't rust and your hands should be soft from all that oil. Spa day on the farm.
Hope he found his lost ones.

Treasure every square foot of that place!!! You are so brave putting your hands in that. But I bet now your hands are nice and clean. You have a big job ahead of you. I know why those chains were in that can, but have they been in there all of that time?

Goodness, when you showed the photograph I thought what a lot of stuff to be sorted, but well done on what you have achieved so far ...

Dirty hands, dirty feet soon become clean and you deserve a sit down.
Love that frog

All the best Jan
