I have had similar experiences in the distant past, thought I really connected with someone while doing 'the dance,' but then at the end of the evening, that is all there was...and though it was sad at that time, it was all part of the dance of life. And....no regrets. But know that your poem resonated, captured something.....

What a memorable evening--and conveyed so well here. A charmer on the dance floor--perhaps you had him at his best and the rest would have been a disappointment! LOL
