yikes, where you fell? did you get up? i hope so... i just don't know how you come up with these from seeing that photo and the words. but you do and it is a God given talent
Hiya Gail....I think you have captured the menacing etherealness of my photo perfectly. I like this piece so much because it houses a story and a character whom the reader gets to know very well. Thanks for posting and viva la
I love the words "to seduce my fate." And of course, your usual twist on things.

Picture compliments of The Nice Cage Blog "writing from the underbelly of comfort." Izy Gruye is a newly discovered blogger by me that has great talent. Imaginary Garden With Read Toads is featuring Play It Again. This is an opportunity to meet several challenges they have had in the past. I chose this photo from Izy's blog and have added the Sunday Whirl's Wordle to challenge myself more.

Dancing With Fate
I gave a penny to a Tarot reader
To make sense of the dark plague
That was my life
She said, "Dancing and praying
Is all you have left
I see a gun. Beware!"
So I danced in the cemetery
During the Blood Moon
To seduce my fate
I danced not alone
But
With a dreadful creature
A kiss was my price
The camera lay where I fell
I forgot to levitate!

This is an interesting blend of word and picture. You have told your story very well.

And so now the speaker is speaking to us from the next world! What a delightful read, even though overshadowed with darkness!

:) O Shucks, Gail. I thought surely your poet would find she had kissed the frog and he became her prince. Darn.

Ouch. Such a brilliant plot--if fiction--having the prediction and then--O! But if not fiction, I shall have to sit down. No Encore, Please.

You should have got a reward for kissing the creature. Ah well, you can't win them all.
