I am placing my bet on LOVE not war.. and lots more of these wonderful guys and gals for you to enjoy... the photos are magnifico... I feel like i was there. Men will never ever never grow up...we know that
Fabulous photos! I'm a Dragonfly girl, but we get a few Damselflies here in the swamp (which is rising, flooding & bringing gators, snakes & Dragonflies galore). xo
Wonderful, the photos AND the commentary. Love your philosophical nature…inspired by nature.

Damselfly
T'is the season and there is an abundant population. Along the creek today, they were beautiful flitting here and there and avoiding my camera but I finally cornered one.
Hubby had driven me into the creek just to make me scream, I think. After I stopped screaming I saw the magic of nature and just sat and enjoyed the beauty.
Then I either witnessed a battle
[Image]
'cause they look like their facing off
[Image]
to engage
[Image]
in deadly warfare
[Image]
or foreplay
[Image]
they danced or battled
[Image]
It was definitely a contact sport
[Image]
The reflections were as entertaining
[Image]
as the actual shots
[Image]
Maybe it was an airshow of the Blue Damsels
[Image]
mid air tricks for our enjoyment
[Image]
I'm guessing love or war
[Image]
sometimes they end the same...one goes away.

What a beautiful display, just like a ballet.
It just shows you what you can see in nature if you have a little patience and watch carefully.

I was just watching the dragonflies dance.

If I'd witnessed it, they would be mating, as I always seem to catch animal shows just as they show the critters humping.
Amazing shots - well done!
