Hubby and I have been married 38 years, too! And, life hasn't always been a bowl of cherries, but we're still together!

We have been married 52 years and what can I say, we are still together, through thick and thin, mostly the thick is me.

Well, said, and I agree, we have to have a sense of humor, to survive not only marriage, but life in general.

I never doubted your happiness as a couple. A little excitement in marriage is better than dullness and yawning, as long as you live through it...and you did.

good for you for sticking it out. too many people want to bail at the first sign of trouble. Young people have no stamina.

I just now read your previous post. Hilarious! I can totally see that happening, and I know you've gotten a lot of mileage out of the incident. I'd be pissed about the jeans, too :)

In a good marriage one always has to be ready to roll with the punches, even if it means rollin' out of a movin' vehicle! Heeheehehe! That still cracks me up!!!

I never doubted for one split-second that you two were made for each other. As you, our rural lives have taken our almost 38 years through events that city slickers only read about or watch in movies but it's never ever boring or dull! :o)

God bless ya sweetie and enjoy your weekend!

Bwahhhhhhaaaa!!!! "Shut-up, I just killed your Mom!!!! I I have to say Hubby about rolled out of the chair laughin' at that one too!!!

Gail, following this blog for quite a while now, I've never doubted your happily married state. That is why you're still around to tell the tale of him throwing you outta the car (lol!) I chuckled to myself today thinking about your hubby telling the girls "I've killed your mom" I could just imagine the crescendo of screams/sobs from them then! Thanks for this beautiful post. May you have many more years of boredomless marriage. Jo

Congrats. Love the story. Ours is similar, with all our ups and downs and health issues.

Nov 9th we will be married 48 years.
Three girls reared and eight grand children from 4 - 19. It's all been invigorating. Interesting. Crazy. Loving.

Blessings to you and hubby.

Was married for 20 years, but had to leave due to verbal and mental abuse. But my hubby and I now have only been married for a short time but we complete eachother. This will last for a very very long time cause we have both been through the ringer with past exs and have found that we are very much alike but then different as well! I am happy for all those who have been married for 30 or more years it takes two as far as I am concerned to make it work ! Have a great weekend !

Gail I just wanted to let you know the heater worked great last night. It kept that sunroom at 60 all night,it ran constantly I think but if the cost estimates are right at 10 cents an hour that's not bad.I don't need that high of temperature out there,I only want to keep it warm enough not to freeze all my plants. That is one thing I don't like, there is no numbers to set the thermostat at,only lights so you have to guess at what temp you are at. But all in all so far I am happy .
Have a blessed weekend. It's cold in these mountains tonight.

I nearly fell off my little chair on this one! Especially the "I've never been bored!" as that was the exact thing Pat said to me...on more than one occassion. I miss him terribly!
I am happy though...or at least very content. Life is good. Not what I expected...but it is good.

The more I read about you and talk to you, the more I like you. You do know the opposite is always possible don't you? LOL

Briefly, this are quiet except for an occassional "growl" which never fails to frighten me! LOL
What an interesting house this is!
And what is REALLY interesting is that it looks so...normal from the darned street!
All is well. I LOVED this post! Just loved it!!
Hugs!

Love this post, Gail! If all marriages could claim the same thing about not being boring....there'd be a lot less divorce :)
