OH NO NOT PHIL... what will the world do without someone to tell how long before spring... maybe one of the kids dressed in a fur coat will inherit his ability..

Hope he tasted good. I woulda caught the Canadian Cannachuk Hog, but he's a slippery old devil. He had a cave off his cave which separated and went 3 ways - don't know which way he went. ha,ha good story Gail - good for a laugh on another snowy morning - Since first blizzard in January, we just got fellas here yesterday to shovel off roof. There's been a demand, eh. Have a wonderful day kiddo. Hugz to M. lol

You're a good poet Gail...but poor Phil...I'm almost ashamed of myself for laughing!

Love it, Gail!! But poor Phil. I am sure that you are not the only one who might do that to him. New Hampshire (?? I think it's that state) as an arrest warrant out for him and want to extradite him.

Not too swift though, the rabbit fur coat. Rabbit fur sheds so terribly much.

p.s. I'm running busy, but remember I'm retired and that's the way retired people are, slow or dead. So I'm linking my goofy retired' 'poem' again for today. Yes, not six feet anymore, but I didn't know that until you told me. Thank you.

I'm not familiar with ground hogs, but this seems like a fun antidote to cold weather (figuratively speaking).

Poor groundhog family to have his fur as coat... I think it's not his fault at all ...

When it comes to good times many rejoice but those unfortunates will survive for another day. There'll be many to take over Phil's place. A witty take Gail. Great!

Something of the scapegoat in poor Phil, blaming nature for, um, being nature. We anthropomorphize animals to a point -- making them enough like us -- but still shoot 'em at the perimeters of our gardens, eat their meat and wear their coats. Then blame them for the cold. Great little tale ...
