Oh I have no idea but it gave me goosebumps you are so lucky. If I lived at your farm I would be out there everyday with my eyes to the ground. History real history awesome.
I can't wait to see what it is I hope someone knows. Jewelry maybe? B

Gail,
Interesting find. Do you have anyone in town that collects or deals in old native jewelry that could maybe give you an idea what you've found?

Did you say once that there was a bank robbery or a stage robbery? Could it be something from that? Maybe it is some Indian artifact. It looks like it could be that. That is so neat. Maybe it is part of that treasure you wrote about that time.

I would start with your local state, city, college or university Departments of Natural History.

My thought was native, too.
And yes, a local history museum or some such.
If it's copper, do not leave it with anyone. Copper is worth a small fortune now, just as copper.

Great find. How lucky!
All we find are old tin cans and broken glass. ;o)

Interesting find. It may indeed be worth looking into a local museum as there is nothing to lose by that. It may indeed be quite old, and only one way to find out. Maybe an image search for Indian necklaces according to the type worn by those in that area in the past perhaps? Although I suspect you have already done this.

Looks machine made to me. It is too perfect to have been hand made. It may have been something on a machine of some kind. It is interesting..let us know what you find out:)
