LOL oh my hope your ok and didn't hurt any thing . That would be me though sand in my hair would be the least of my probs lol I would probably bruise something or pull something knowing my luck or there lack of it lol ! Take it easy and have a good day !
Ouch! We must be very careful at our age. It is pretty impressive that you can write poetry from your pain. Glad you're OK. Keep your feet on the ground for a while.
smiles...i am glad you are unharmed...and i have plenty of those moments...i hate to imagine the shape they will find me in eventually...ha....but you got it out, right...smiles..
I didn't fear falls until I was diagnosed with osteoporosis about 10 years ago. There is something to be said for sturdy bodies. I also make sure my feet are firmly planted on the corners of the tub when I shower.
Hi Gail, this sounds like the author had experienced a fall similar to this.
In Ireland I fell down a few cement and stone stairs. At the bottom I laid there figuring out where I hurt.
Two young people came rushing over and helped me up even though I told them I didn't want to get up. .. I also fell down the up escalator in London. A lady and her son were coming up but instead of helping me they tried to dodge me. ..
Thanks to your "stupidity" we do get to read your wonderful poetry about it. I love how you described lying down in the sand pondering it. You do have a very good ironic way of putting it into words. I always do enjoys your forays into poetic prose.
That is a nice verse that gives us a view of you lying in the sand, pondering your fall. We tend to do things like that. My arms are a scratched bloody mess from cleaning out behind the rose bushes.
Glad you were okay. A fall like than can leave a nasty legacy, as I'm sure you know from other experiences!
=)

Made me smile ... but only after I knew you were OK, Gail. We've all done things like that though. I sprained my wrist the first time I went out mountain biking. Turns out the front brakes on a mountain bike are binary, not gradual. Off and ON are the only settings.
Oh my- climbing...falling...not good combination. I guess good thing you landed in sand. Glad you are ok!

Possessed
By my workaholic attitude
I do silly things
Like I'm Super Man
Or Wonder Woman
Or Grand Gardener
Today
I pulled
On a very rotten limb
Until it broke
And fell with me
Hitting the ground first
My darling witnessed this
Offering me a hand up
No, thank you, I said
I just want to lay here
And ponder my stupidity
A moment
As the nice swing sand
Stuck to my sweaty parts
I thought some day
I'll be found
Like the poor bird
Dissolving in the fence
I lay long enough
Just looking and thinking
That Hubby checked again
To see if I was breathing or broken
He said, You have sand in your hair
As I took his hand this time

Silly girl! Be careful . . . don't make me worry about you! A fall, broken bones is not in these cards. OK?

Okay Wonder Woman, you need to let Super Man climb that ladder and pull/cut limbs off the tree.
I'm glad to hear you're okay.

We should all spend more time pondering our own stupidity... it might save repeat performances!!!
Nice job!
