I hope to never meet a mirrored me...my thoughts went straight to 1. he sure has a great leg out there. 2. they are talking about a duel, she fainted. 3. I wonder if they know Sir Lancelot? I am hopeless right?
"When they met their mirrored mes"--love this line. I read somewhere that we each have six Doppelgangers worldwide. Can you imagine that? Wow. So bizarre.
Ah yes, 'they' do say we fall in love with ourselves seen in the other. I like your fun take on it, and phrases like 'mirrored mes' and 'which was thee'.

That is an experience I'd not want to have.

Ink and wash on paper by Rossetti
Meeting the challenge for Flash 55 Plus at Imaginary Garden With Real Toads
55 words exactly with the inspiration of another of Rossetti's art pieces
How They Met Themselves
On
a fine day a couple strayed
To
walk among the trees
Imagine
their delight
What
a sight
When
they met their mirrored mes
Manners
held their course
Doppelgangers indeed
Someone
watching
Could
not tell which was real
Or
which was thee
Sitting upon the ground
Had
a lively luncheon
While
all were in town

An interesting twist to the prompt.....meeting one's mirrored self would be quite startling, at least in my case. Photos are bad enough! LOL.

I like it- had to look back at the pic at first because I just glanced at it. I wonder what we would do if we walked up on our own selves.

A ghastly experience to meet your doppelgänger..

Your narrative captures that moment of surprise and wonder very well.

Meeting ourselves in the other is something we do so well--always a shock when we find out maybe that mirror is cracked.

Interesiting idea, meeting one's self. Could be fun, or rather disappointing.

Interesting. I just saw a show about a doppelganger haunting a young woman. Scary.

Love the rhymes in this, and especially the mes.

One must keep to propriety when meeting a mirror image. Love it!
