Surface tension! It was difficult to explain to the young that 'you sink' and 'they float' without safety gear!Hank

When I lived in SC we had a little fish pond. I love watching the skaters on it... as well as the other water bugs that were part of the pond.

Many years ago humans walked on water too!Great picture!

And they show up on any standing water. Fun to watch whether one or hundreds.We always called them water striders, too. :-)
