I cannot ride horses, but I respect them and their people. This sounds like you, for sure.

My grand plan (as a horse crazy girl who was the shortest kid in the whole sixth grade) was going to be to become a jockey. It was not to be, however, once I grew up both figuratively AND literally (as in 6 inches in one year ;o)

Nice post!

Glad your dream actualized.
And that you did not give it up.
Riding a cow can be fun,
but shame on those friends.

I dont get the chance often,
but I do like to ride horseback.

I get to look at them often
as there are several stables around me.

I dreamt of being a cowboy too but once on a horse I soon realized that would not be for me. I am glad you still like horses despite the unkind friends.

Ah.. sometimes cowgirls make the best cowboys.. with their softer
touch of horse whispering love.. and the communion of
human and animal.. woman or man.. is always
a sacred one in cowgirls
and cowboys..
who ride
a
trail
of
horse saddled love..:)

I've ridden a horse exactly once, as an adult no less. And I LOVED it. It's definitely intimidated at first, and they are powerful creatures, but it's something that I hope to do again someday.

how cool... i rode a horse a couple of times but after a rather wild forest ride with a crazy horse that tried to get rid of me i never got on one again... i often went to my uncle's cow stable though and tried to teach language to the cows - not very successful i have to confess...smiles

So good that you never gave up.. and now don't have to ride cows and mean horses... I rode a little when I was young, but have not done it in many many years...

I wanted to be like Dale Evans and Roy Rogers when I grew up and the Christmas I got the little cowgirl outfit was great, cept my Mom got me big ole guns to wear too. ha,ha I was one happy kid. I used to ride and was taught by a friend of the family who taught riding - I cleaned her stables and she taught me to ride. Haven't ridden for YEARS, but have never forgotten how special it was. You look like a cowboy to me :) Have a wonderful day and hugz to M. lol

I love this and I am so glad you had your own horses. I lived on mine and I still think about the feel of it. Though, I don't think I will be ever riding again. :) I am glad though we have a shared experience.

Horses are special creatures! They have this passion which rubs off to the rider of strength, and freedom.
