I do believe my Muck Boots are going to get broke in now. I have two pair now. Wish one would fit you I love them. How comfortable is walking in a pair of "wellies",(without a hole) . . . I have wondered about a purchase for me for tramping through the woods when three feet of snow starts to melt? Critique please?
It's nice to get out of the house all prepared with proper cold weather gear to see what changes mother nature did to the the property as she rolled through.
I hate when your gear fails, then you get wet, and cold and have no choice but to turn around and return home.
One good thing, you get to buy new boots, guaranteed to keep your feet dry and warm for your next venture with mother nature.

Our weather has been rain heavy wet snow and rain it is so slushy and deep out there ! We are having to keep an eye on the river here in our valley and hope it doesn't flood the lower part of the valley ! If all this slush freeze we it will be a huge ice rink everywhere ! My rubber boots fell apart , well they were old and I haven't found any I like as of yet ! Have a good day !

I loved this post, because for one thing I also love to trek aboot and with ice n snow its a bit tricky, especially when it starts to melt. Everything is sloppy and wet n slippery. I usually wear waterproof boots that have great tread and also insulated. I was looking for new rubber boots or wellies that would do the same thing and did find them. Warm, guaranteed for -30 weather and waterproof but the bonus is they have handles at the top to pull on and are handsomely beautiful with psychedelic flower pattern. I shall send you a photo lol Lilly

Yea my boots sprung a leak this season too...one pair from the heal...had them reshod! but the Wellies in red plaid, they can't be fixed. Same.
I was so excited to see that ARROWHEAD! Very cool! My salon wall is sporting- a rather large- Print of about 100 or so different Arrowheads and the origins of them in actual size. My man found it at Good Will, as I was redecorating the space over the winter. My man then went into the dregs of our basement and brought out a collection of his of 6 arrowheads. I never even new!
Thanks for the exciting walk about. I love seeing around your neck of the woods...so very different from mine. Always a treat...except for your wet feet. The only reason we have "muck" boots around Casa de Cuckoo is so when we visit the farm we are "prepared", otherwise they just decorate our garage shoe area. I'd choose something happy inducing for foot wear..mine would be red with white polka dots....buts that's just me. Oma Linda

Very cool though. I'm a rock hound, so am always on the look-out for major scores. Love all those boot choices!! That's a common fashion accessory around here as well. You can't live in Oregon without good ole rubber boots. I have Mucks, plain black. Would love me some colored boots!

Nice find in that arrowhead! My husband spent a lot of time in his growing up years searching for arrowheads, and never found one. But when our son was small, he found one in the garden...just laying there in plain sight! Dad was thrilled!

is what I do when it's been raining a while. Gotta check out everything. Dinner's in the oven so I don my camouflage rubber boots and a jacket because it's turning cold. I listened to the water roar through the valley at its peak last night but I couldn't go see.
Daylight comes we have things to do. Want to help? Come along with me and we'll have some fun.

We must check the water level. We must check for new sand bars and see if the old ones still remain.

We have to watch for places holding water

and places that have washed out. All these have to be corrected to conserve the land.

We check water gaps to make sure nothing is stopping the flow. If the water has damaged it replace/repair it so the cattle will not get out.

We take out the limbs and the football (placing soggy football under our arm) that was blocking the flow and discover we have a hole in our boots.
A cold hole. Boots now full of water we slosh back to the house thinking it may be time for new rubber boots.

We find an arrowhead. And that is how a day goes after a big rain...now I'm looking for new rubber boots.

A hole in the boot? Me, I'd head for the local tire shop and buy a tire patch kit. My old boots had 6 on them before the patches started to fail.
