love that boot shot and the sweet facing staring up into the camera. i liked the tree better with the wild stuff.. jungle is our thing....but the removal is great exercise...

We have the same problem with birds 'depositing' new plants in the wrong places. And I agree w/Alex, if we left them alone, they would probably grow better than those we place.
Whoever is taking up a collection to get you a new pair of boots, tell them I'm in. I guess, if the soles aren't worn out, they are still functionable (new word around our house).
I have some Aspen(Piss Popple) that like to sprout up in the yard...and acorns that never are in the right spot. Your tree looks better than your boots:)
That is a huge nice tree. Yep, all of that work but it looks great now. Nice boots, I had to finally give mine up they were starting to fill with dirt and then water with ever step. :)
Around here it's pecan trees and the squirrels plant them all over the yard. If you don't dig them up before they get about 8" tall you are shit out of luck. you'll be cutting that thing down forever.

That happens constantly in my flowerbeds out on the patio. I have regular trees growing there that have to be taken down because there is no room for them. This summer there are all sorts of mysterious plants popping out of the ground again that I am keeping a watchful eye on. I always have my clippers handy and will not be caught off guard again.
I so agree with you regarding the birds. They keep dropping little seeds and pieces creating a jungle in places where you really don't need added foliage or the work. I like the way you groomed your black walnut tree, have you had walnuts from it yet? When you have a good pair of boots already broken in you really don't want to have to get rid of them. Do you have duck tape? It's great for repairing all kinds of stuff. I used it on my husbands lounge chair in the house.
I never thought of that way of spreading seeds...You are expanding my horizons.

You know the ones I'm talking about. The trees and bushes that grow as birds plant them in their own little micro environment. Moisture, fertilizer and seed...how can these fail to grow?? Of course they're always dropped where they aren't needed and where it's almost impossible for them to be transplanted.

Here is a huge Black Walnut tree. That's all I need there but it doesn't always work that way. Been behind on yard work with life kinda getting in the way. This is the day I decided to do ONE thing.
The birds land in the tree and plant mulberries, briers, blackberry, and wild hedge...none of which I want here.
My option? Chop, chop!
