I look forward to seeing the pond this summer. You have worked way harder than me for sure. We had nice weather yesterday and I missed it. Today it rained most of the day. Soon, I will get outside, soon.
Thank God spring is here. I am terrified that we will get some snow like some others are getting. Today it was 70 and sunny. We did the same as you, yard work.
Great news of warming trends are appearing all over...yet yup- there are still some folks getting the white stuff still. My friend that moved to Texas with his 2 horses(thinking it would be warm and wonderful...)Had the second bout of snow yesterday in 2 months! It's like he never left Oregon, he says!
Loved seeing the water feature...it is coming to life again with it's animals! Magic was adorable-placing himself into your frame like that! Glad to hear of just- plain- rain...us too! KK
I bet you and your husband are good at slinging the, er, manure. :)
Everybody has their jobs on the farm. It's nice to see everybody working together and the animals just wandering around in the background. What a happy place!

[Image]The horses enjoyed the green grass while Bev and I tried to do some yard. The water garden had wintered well and many things were growing already.
[Image]Bev did some raking and I worked around the water garden, removing the winter's leaves or should I say, trying to remove the winter's leaves.[Image]Magic wandered by toward the green grass. The horses were loving the day and so were we. The temps were perfect.[Image]Hubby and Andrew cultivated the garden. They hauled poop to the pasture and redistributed it for fertilizer.[Image]The water garden is looking a little better but many leaves to go. I think a leaf blower would have made easy work of this. I had to handpick the leaves out of the rocks.
Note the black thing floating. It was covered with snail eggs so I had to leave it in. I want plenty of snails to feed my fish and help keep the pond clean. I also ran into many frog eggs and tadpoles. Life is going to be plentiful in my little water garden this year.
Remember how beautiful it was last year, it will be again and very soon. I guess we all have to shed the uglies after the winter we have had.
It has been raining since last night and still raining. I am glad it is not snow. Many of you have been hit with late winter storms and I am surely thankful the snow went around us this time.
We had great plans for today. More spreading of manure, I was headed to the barn to work but as you can see from this picture, not much equipment will be moving today.[Image]This is from my screen porch,doesn't bode well for outside work.

It is snowy here with sleet and blowing winds. Not so spring like.

Ah yes, we were slammed with a big snowstorm yesterday... welcome to the first day of spring! LOL
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that next weekend will finally be THE weekend to get outside and get our garden started. :)
Good for you that you had a beautiful day yesterday and were able to work in the yard. There's nothing like it in early spring!

There is kinda' a wintry ( or should I say springy) mix outside right now. It's been a cold nasty day here on the Ponderosa.

I enjoyed getting out and working too. Warm weather is so welcome. Rain seems to be missing us. Hope it doesn't get too muddy.
