This is truth. Sometimes we want to believe so much that things are getting better that we continue to blind ourselves to the reality of the things that are still so wrong.
Interesting mix and some truth uncovered...remember my piano student with multiple bracelets refused to take them off as they meant some friendship promises....

I have to agree here, there are a lot of very very troubling things happening and a lot of denial as well. Powerful piece!

Rose colored glasses might be as damaging as war itself... many things are happening that we refuse to hear..

Yes, those rose-colored glasses can, unfortunately, sometimes hide the truth.

We have a whole continent wearing those glasses, my friend. I love this poem. You nailed it.

Here's a poem with bite! Even those of us who are activists spread ourselves too thin.

Ah, those rose-coloured glasses. They hide the truth but it doesn't make it go away.

For change to take place the glasses have to be removed so one can see the full picture.

Powerful poem without being strident or preachy. Excellent work. Hayes Spencer is Kanzensakura

It is sad to be disillusioned in one's home and representatives.

Yep, I think you got this one just right.
More's the pity.

mhm, sometimes it's hard to take those glasses off, but eventually they do.

The mix of what we do and what we say, the hiding of who we are.
