So, So true Gail . . . The critters were wild here today . . . I counted 8-10 Cardinals, about the same number of squirrels and the small birds, junco, finch, chicadee, I lost count! Busy lunch counter today!
Southern parts of our country down way are experience heatwave conditions are present, poor beggars!

had every critter scrambling to get a meal before the weather worsened. The valley was full of crows but they are more alert than me. Not one picture was good.

That's for sure. If you see squirrel running all over like crazy and digging holes, you know winter is at your back door knocking.

The squirrels come and gather up my chicken food, then haul it off to their nests. My cats constantly try to catch them, but thankfully they never do.

Indeed they do! They will empty the feeder out side the kitchen window in one day when the weather is threatening.
