Things don't always go to plan but it seems you made the most of your time and didn't get to down in the dumps about things. Here our temps are half yours although it has been nice and sunny.

I hear you! I finally gave up waiting for even a cool hour in the evening and just worked through the heat, knowing it would all be washed away with a nice shower. Sometime you fight back, sometimes you bow out. It's all good.

Whew! That's hot. I'm guessing with the humidity, the heat index was more like 120F. gah!
Sounds like you did the right thing is not doing too much. That kind of heat makes you sick and can be dangerous, too.
Love seeing you spending time with your horses. They obviously love you. And the corn husks. hehe :)

Freedom is wonderful.

I know what you mean about the rain. The sky has been teasing us with rumblings and darkness and maybe 2 drops of rain.

Your heat is phenomenal.I don't know how you last in it. Or how you can even function in it. It would have us Dutch people beat. You really did alright for how hot it was. I would have just gone to a creek in the woods and not have moved at all.

I'm surprised you were able to do any rock work at all in this heat! We also saw our last chance for rain evaporate before our eyes. Lots of thunder, black skies, wind blowing. I closed the windows in the non-air conditioned rooms, took a nap, and when I woke up, the sun was blazing again and everything was still bone dry. Hubby said it blew by. Grass is brown and crunchy.
