Things don't always go to plan but it seems you made the most of your time and didn't get to down in the dumps about things. Here our temps are half yours although it has been nice and sunny.
WOW ! your temps are just like ours ! I am always getting sidetracked and end up multiy tasking to get it done lol mmm ham and eggs sounds good 11 am is a brunch for us only I am always the one to make it lol. Sounds like your day was filled with good things regaurdless ! Love the photos stay cool my friend and have a great day !
I hear you! I finally gave up waiting for even a cool hour in the evening and just worked through the heat, knowing it would all be washed away with a nice shower. Sometime you fight back, sometimes you bow out. It's all good.
Whew! That's hot. I'm guessing with the humidity, the heat index was more like 120F. gah! Sounds like you did the right thing is not doing too much. That kind of heat makes you sick and can be dangerous, too. Love seeing you spending time with your horses. They obviously love you. And the corn husks. hehe :)
Your heat is phenomenal.I don't know how you last in it. Or how you can even function in it. It would have us Dutch people beat. You really did alright for how hot it was. I would have just gone to a creek in the woods and not have moved at all.
I'm surprised you were able to do any rock work at all in this heat! We also saw our last chance for rain evaporate before our eyes. Lots of thunder, black skies, wind blowing. I closed the windows in the non-air conditioned rooms, took a nap, and when I woke up, the sun was blazing again and everything was still bone dry. Hubby said it blew by. Grass is brown and crunchy.
Oh, the plans I make when I dream, I was gonna get so much done today. No hospitals, no obligations, nothing but plans of important treasured things I WANTED to do.[Image] So here are the temps that greet me by nine o'clock. All my outside adventures are literally melting before my eyes. I have been up since five but other things demanded my attention...the normal crap assigned to women, dishes, gathering things, starting laundry, etc. I really shouldn't complain because while outside doing other things, hubby is making hashbrowns from scratch, ham, and eggs for breakfast (at eleven am).
[Image]I had topped off the water garden, removed a bag of mortar from the car to work on my rocks...bag's been there six months...and while there, I had to bring a blanket and a sweater in to wash, also in the trunk. I have a sand and rock deck below my porch and have decided it needed mortar. Note the big rock that is the center, compliments of always-do-it-big hubby. Siding-tracking always throws me off, see something that needs doing, do it, and go back to first job later.[Image]Sadly watched the last chance of rain leave the valley[Image]while longing just to forget it all and walk out that entry...to explore.[Image]Marcy shows with fresh corn husks...sidetracked, again.[Image]Yes, I am in this equine huddle,[Image]loving every corn fed moment of it.
The morning was not as productive as I wanted. I gathered some limbs, used the cement, fed/loved the horses, refreshed their water and did not have a dry rag on me.
Oh, the freedom felt so good.

Sometimes it's okay to do what's needed and the rest can always wait until tomorrow. :)

Freedom is wonderful.
I know what you mean about the rain. The sky has been teasing us with rumblings and darkness and maybe 2 drops of rain.
