They are so lovely and detailed, and such variety. I have never seen green ones; they look like shells. I wonder if the green is caused by some algae.

When I was mowing yesterday, I saw what I thought was a good sized rock mounding in the grass like they do after a rain. When I tried to dig the rock out, it turned out to be a mushroom of sorts. Never saw one buried before. Was I seeing a truffle?

Do you know what the last one is? It looks a lot like amanita phalloides. That one was a big news story here, as a 2 year old boy died from eating one.
