Whoa, is he as big as he looks? Gee. I use to see baby CHs here at the house when we first moved in - thirty some years ago, not so much now.

I like snakes, but not copperheads! Trouble is, I never stick around long enough to know if one is poisonous, I'm on the run. Spiders, now, they give me the heebie jeebies! That snake has beautiful markings. Maybeif I see one like it I'll know what it is.

Your idea and my idea of "dispatched humanly" are probably two different things.

Was a quick shovel to the head used?

No?

A gun shot to the head?

No?

A big heavy rock to smush it's head?

No?

Yeah, like I said, we are definitely NOT on the same page!

As long as the mate is nowhere near Detroit, I'm good with that. Don't. Do. Snakes.

I let my husband deal with the snakes. Most of them he just moves from where we find them to where they will be out of our way and can go on their own.

That was definitely a big one!

Found you through Hickery Holler Farm!

I prefer things with legs and fur or hair! Thank goodness we only have one type of poisonous snake in UK...and that is small and not liable to be around habitation.

Yep, I remember the dreaded copperhead snake from my childhood in ILL. I was always on the look out for them...and water moccasins too!

I don't know if I would have disposed of it humanely. I don't know if I could have killed it either. I would have been plain scared. I would have left it to someone else to deal with probably.
