These pics are beautiful and horses are such spirited creatures. They seem to soothe our weary souls. So nice for them to come for a visit and I too hope they find their way home unless that is the place that spooked them.
Gorgeous critters. What fun to take the time to sing, enjoy the sunshine, and ,ale friends. You'll have to let us know the rest of the story when you know it!
They must sense the good soul in you. They are so beautiful. I love horses. We take drives on country roads and always pull over so I can chat with the horses - and photograph them!
What wonderful therapy for these guests of yours. They might not want to leave. I would have liked to hear you singing those tunes. The horses probably thought they had stumbled into a paradise. and their owners needn't worry while they are with you. Just a thought - have you got wild horses in your valley....have you ever seen any? My brother is 1/3 through his radiation treatments and doing very well. He will Finish treatments first week in January. I haven't been on computer much. So happy to hear all is well at your home. Pass Hugz and best wishes on to all, and big H to M. lol
they are really beautiful horses and well cared for, i know someone mst be crazy trying to find them. the one still has the halter on and is my favorite... must be looking for free range grass...
I can soo see you siting there serenading these two beauties ! Fantastic post and photos . Hope you can find their home all is good ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

I love this beautiful, poetic, and heartfelt post. The only horse I ever had a relationship with was fenced in a corral by my bus stop when I was 10. I called him Charlie McDoogle. He was neglected, except for feed. I used to sing to him and talk to him. He grew to recognize and trust me. ❤
Oh my Gail . . . how beautiful . . . I loved knowing the horses were in YOUR fields . . . And you sang songs and they stayed . . . Listening, watching . . . What a MOMENT!
Oh how pretty- I wonder how they ended up loose and on the run. I hope the owners come looking for them. You have the horse whisperer's tricks down solid. :)
I am glad you are a horse singer/whisperer. I always have enjoyed that. I am glad you had some to sit and watch. To this day, nothing makes me happier than to smell a horse. Have a lovely day.
I was discussing "The Horse Whisperer" with a friend only a couple of days ago. It's one of my favourite books and movies...I have both here. There's something about the story that really resonates with me. I love it...for me it's very emotional and it always makes me cry.
Those horses are beautiful. Stunning creatures are horses!

I've had horses and then I didn't. That statement oversimplifies the emotions involved. Today I had a reminder of my over powering love and need for horses.

Something had spooked these badly for them end up here. I don't know where they belong yet but for the moment they're here for my viewing pleasure.

I had no apples. I took bits of carrot hoping they were vegetable lovers. I sat down slowly on a rock far from them and just talked.
They grazed as I sang them songs: Happy Trails, Me and You, Imagine, You've Got A Friend, I'll Be There, Beth, and more. I sang Roy Rogers, John Lennon, Beatles, The Turtles, James Taylor, Jackson Five, John Denver and multiple other artists. I moved closer.
They relaxed with the cocked hips and even some lip licking but they never completely relaxed. They were still on alert. I moved closer slowly and sat much like Robert Redford did in the movie "The Horse Whisperer". They came closer.

Did they ever come close enough for you to secure them? Or did the owner finally show up?
Really nice shots. They gave you plenty of opportunities.

Aww what a great adventure. I'm still not sure, even though you've explained it to me, why you do not have at least one horse.

Would
Do.

Really lovely photos!
(P.S. - you commented on the haibun in my blog that it was a 'beautiful memory.' Sigh.
The main character was a little boy. No memory. Just fiction. )

Horses are among the best of God's animal creations. You brought them some fine moments. Great photos.

Beautiful. Did they stick around?
December 7, 2015 at 5:32 PM
Good that they came where someone would know what to do. Did anyone come looking? Did you figure out what happened?
Blessings, Gail. ♥
