They are in our barn again this year ~ luckily we all get along , although they don't get along all with the neighbors . Hear as cream or two from their dive bombing the Mrs. over that way lol
I like Barn Swallows and ours just showed up last week . Today our Oriels and Hummers showed up to ! Lovely post and photos ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
My YardKidz protect my Yardbirdz and the YardGirlz love to watch them feed their young and the YardDogz chase them all away. It seems we all are always starting over in one respect or another. Just like your poem girlie. Oh Yeah, hi to your yard folk n such too and Hugz to YardGirlz.....you n Marcy
Have you heard of the place in California where the swallows come every year in droves? It's Capistrano. It always seemed a romantic notion to me until you described them in greater detail. I wonder if the people of Capistrano mind their swooping and chattering. (I could probably do okay with the chattering as long as it wasn't right by my window…but the swooping? Not so much.)

The nests are gone
Go away
With your scissor tail
You can not build
A nest here
They flit
Swoop
And chatter
Like many in life
They build again
And again.

You know it's bad luck to destroy a swallow's nest?

We have the same situation with pigeons - I think I'd almost prefer the swallows!

redhorse...I'm in a boat load of trouble because I destroyed seven.
Swallows return every year but they can't build here unless I put up a sign. Beware Bird Bomb Zone.
thanks for visiting. I cannot reply to your email since you are a no reply comment blogger.

Gail,
It must be mating time for these birds, we had them screaming and flying all around us when fishing yesterday.
