I picked your post to peer at now because i saw a pecker pecaning, peering, pecking and prowling. I LOVE IT... especially the first photo and ALL the words.
This is so cute, Gail! We have a fake woodpecker on a big tree in the front yard that has fooled many people. I like woodpeckers. I've never seen one cracking a pecan!
Lovely photos . We have a few of these Red bellies woodpeckers here to and one we named Charlie and he is a cheeky fellow he like to play hide and seek in our tree and on the suet feeders , he knows his name and squawks every time I call his name and talk to him ! Thanks for sharing , have a good day !
Neat! I didn't know they liked pecans. Wow! Kind of like when Hubby and I saw pileated woodpeckers on the ground a year or so ago, definitely looking for something! Thanks for the great photos, Gail!

I'm really quite fond of peckers, despite all the noise.

Someone told me they had seen a woodpecker in the tree outside our house but I have yet to see it.

Woodpeckers are among my very favourite birds. I have a pair of Downeys. I also have a Red-bellied, seasonally, and Flickers. I adore them all.

I've never seen a woodpecker in person. I guess this is the next best thing!

Nice alliteration with great shots. Didn't know peckers ate pecans. Looks like he was using the post as a tool. Smart bird.
