I had a rainy day at work the other day and enjoyed it. The deliveries were at places unaffected by rain, so the work went on. The steady rain reminded me of times from my youth, spent watching the rain from our porch, or that of my grandparents, OR the open barn door.
When it started raining, I asked the Lord for enough to wash the truck, so I wouldn't have to. When I parked it that evening, it looked great! lol
Gail, having grown up in Illinois where rains was more frequent than Texas, I run out on the porch if it rains in Texas to listen and feel the air. I do miss it, but we had more than our share this past spring.
The poem I wrote was written for the Poets United Poetry Pantry. You will see the LINKS at the site Sunday morning. Come back to PU then. Hope to see you.
Once again, I am envious of your rain. I am praying that our drought will end this year.

Blow, winds, blow!
Leafs fell because of heat and no rain.

The rain came

and kissed the plants.

Washing their feet and their faces
the plants smiled

knowing they were blessed.
It has almost been too long.

The rains came here too and I am so thankful. Even the Dogwoods in the woods around here looked like they were dyeing.

Ah yes, and it keeps on making things lovely! Except when it leaves major puddles of rainwater in the center of a volleyball game!
