I wonder why we love seeing the deer? My husband and I used to take drives in the evenings just to look for deer. One evening we got to see one up close and personal. It ran right in front of us and glanced off the front of the car. He was fine, but the car got a bruise. haha
I can't help but love seeing the deer. Two bucks were in our front yard an hour ago, but while they are busy hoovering the acorns they are also stripping some of our young trees of their bark-YIKES! I am conflicted. Halp!!!! And yeah I love seeing their white fannies as they jump the fence! Deer season starts Sunday.
Great shots, I got some pretty good photos the other day too..I love to watch them with their tails waving in the air. We have way too many in this area..especially if it is a hard winter. Bottle up some of that sunshine..you could sell it:)
Love the picture at the top of your blog. I love to hear about farm life tho I have never lived on one. The closest I have come is when we went to our cottage in Wisconsin every summer, we had to walk across the meadows each night and go to the farm to get milk and eggs and we always went early to see the big horses scuffing in their stalls eating after a hard day's work and the sons milking the cows and singing "I'm dreaming tonight of my Blue eyes." and Nobody's darlin" but mine, dear." I realize I have a far from realistic view of farm life, but I love it for what it is to me.
They are beautiful creatures but we too are way overpopulated here. They are bedding down where we feed hay, eating cattle grain and our soybean crop. I hate to see what happens if we have a major hard winter. As always, Gail your pictures rock!
I dumped another five inches of rain from the gauge this morning. {SIGH} 'Still prayin' for a ray of sunlight. Have a beautiful day sweet lady!!!
The Royal Family shoots the deer on the Royal Grounds. Ordinary people are not invited. They hunt on horseback, then go sneaking into the bush. The Queen does it too. What do you make of that? It sounds like snobbery, doesn't it?
"Ordinary people" could go deer stalking in UK....if they could afford it! It's an expensive sport/hobby! It's not all Royal Ground. Usually hunting on horseback was done to catch foxes but that is banned now in UK. I'm not quite sure what it is that the Queen does that sounds like snobbery!
