Perhaps, since the Poetry Jam prompt is up all week, you might be able to come up with a poem that IS about either a carnival or a festival or Mother's Day as time goes on... We will look forward to it.
Funny, when you mentioned Sunrise,Sunset, one thing came to mind for me:
Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly flow the days Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly fly the years One season following another Laden with happiness and tears (Fiddler On The Roof) - I find myself singing it now as I read your poem and I'm laughing....kinda for I felt like writing something one time and all I got were two sentences: "On this writing, I'll not do well Surrounded by mosquito's, biting like hell" It was a grand moment.....but..... ha,ha Have a wonderful day, hi to all lol
In your own unique way you make it work better than if you had done it according to the rules, I like your own interpretation. Usually it turns out better that way, Gail. Don't sell yourself short. xox

I wanted to do all the prompts
But life got in the way
I've been really swamped
And almost lost my way
I wanted to create Shakespeare style
I wanted sunset words to sing
I thought of trees for a while
But on paper I couldn't do a thing.
So I gathered pictures
Of trees and sunsets
Played within strictures
I haven't got it yet
So I combined trees and sunsets but no festival this time
Shakespeare style with less with thirty-five lines

You did indeed capture both sunsets and trees despite your lack of inspiration. Carry on. I enjoyed this posting.
