I loved the feel of this piece, Gail! I too, could visualize the dancing, and could imagine poor Long Pig's disappointment when things didn't transpire as he had hoped. Yes, a great intro to a tale waiting to be told! Thank you for sharing with us at Two Shoes Tuesday and for deftly using both prompt words! :-)
Hi Gail ~~ This is a nice thought providing poem for today. Right away I thought of my 1964 month in San Francisco, "Flower haired girls."
Then I see it got canabolistic. But I haven't seen the Long Pigs movie so I'm back to dreaming of the flower haired girls. If it were still 1964 I would go back (I've been back several times, the flowers have crashed). .. ..

Well crafted, Gail. I particularly like the "feasting on broken words."
And the cadence of this was perfect. I could almost hear the drums beating myself!
=)

This definitely lends itself to a story. It leaves me wanting to more more about the characters and the situations. I hope you write the story.

This made me think of Hawaiian ceremonies with the beating drums and the women dancing with flowers in their hair.
How many of us had dreams go up in smoke?
This was wonderful!
