Well at least they got it. I am thrilled since I believe that it is a good day when a skunk meets it demise. I bet there is lots of skunk smell now though.

I was born and raised on a farm so I know how things work. Yes I do. Good dogs too, even if they smell to high heaven when they are done.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

We smelled a skunk in the area last week, but it wasn't any of the cats, so we figure it was across the street somewhere.

Have a great day!

There is a baby opossum living in our shop at present... and it's going to meet the same doom soon, as soon as Lilly discovers it.

He got a couple of mice inside the camper last fall--good dog!

I had to look twice to spot that skunk in it's clever hiding place. You are absolutely right, life on a farm is very real, and not always for those with delicate sensibilities. You have to take care of business, and protect your own, so you do what must be done, and the dogs do their part too. Now as for that powerful perfume, did it wear off on it's own or did you have to use tomato juice? It's the only thing I know of that does a pretty good job of neutralizing the odor. I once had one take up residence under a mobile home where I was living, talk about that smell coming up through the floor vents at night burning eyes and throats. That one had to be eradicated too! I love skunks... from a distance! Did you ever read the story about the ones that used to visit on our deck to eat catfood? I nearly stepped on one, one night! :-))

You have some good farm dogs there! I was out on a date with a boy when I was in high school one night when a skunk suddenly appeared in the road. Before my date could swerve to miss it, we had run it over and I have to say that I have never forgotten that smell. It is a horrendous odor.

Luckily there are no skunks in Australia but we have our share of baddies. Most of the baddies here are imported...me included!

Your post was quite an education.

I have "skunk watch" around here too. Brave dogs you have . . . does their bath time remove the "fragrance?"

Good Dogs - I was partly raised on my Aunti's farm, so know the value of a good farm dogs. Way to go boys, my Aunti would put a bunch of water in a big old tub in the yard and call them one by one - they didn't smell when they got out, but I'll be darned if I remember what she used. Some kind of home made soap - YIKES Gail - you will probably catch olde heck for this from the Skunk Association. Remember I said "GOOD DOGS" n hope they got a treat. Give Marcy a big hug, hi to all. lol
