I love wading and mudding and cool water. not those pesky pests though. we have them bugging us in the pool to. looks so good, wish I could wade there to.. I am coming to you from laptop in lap while sitting in rocker and so far so good.
How splendid! I love the way you think and write! It looks so refreshing, yet the undercurrents of flying biters. Kind of like life sometimes. You also really know how to appreciate the small things and enjoy each day as it comes. Happy Weekend!!
How cool of you to give the old gals a ride then let them cool off in the stream. Bet it was a muddy ride back but somehow, I am pretty sure you didn't mind.
I've read somewhere that mud can be used as an insect repellent, but I do not know. I can just feel the cool water and mud between my toes. ^_^ Thank you, Gail. Have a blessed weekend!
You sound good, Gail! I had to smile the other day when my grown granddaughter in South Carolina asked if I had put the little puppy in the Fairy Garden yet. It's all overgrown and I took him in until I could get it trimmed and cleaned up..She wanted a picture when I was finished. I had told her the story of how I came to have him when she came to visit..She wants him when I die...and I told her "yes, of course!" She was sort of joking but I was not! :) He deserves a good home!
I haven't dangled my feetsies in a stream in many years..say ..70? I could almost feel the coolness on my feet!
This looked and sounded so cool and relaxing, I wanted to come and join you!

After my feet and I had burned a brush pile and grass burrs I'd picked, we took a Gator ride to deliver Tractor Man to his tractor in the New Ground fields.
It was warm for a run up the hill. I'm a softie so old lady Lil and Lizzy got to ride in the Gator seat with me. They'd run along with us and were so hot. We stopped at the creek. My shoes were quickly discarded.

We walked in together, the dogs, my feet and I.

The water was cool
[Image]
It was clear when we entered.
Clear didn't last long.
The dogs made quite a splash and stirred up the mud.
The cow flies, mosquitoes and deer flies were feeding on us as we cooled.
Even though the water was low there were some good pools to chill in.
We even liked the mud.

My self portrait and the dogs were cool and happy as we reflected.

For some reason, this post reminded me of the old song "Mississippi Mud." Of course, the original lyrics would be considered quite racist now.! lol

I remember rafting once in the spring and the water was icy cold to the point it hurts. Never understood that.
