I agree with you, but I just cannot understand a COACH, or Coaches allowing such brutality amongst young children/adults - it certainly does not teach them anything. I do know a fair amount about coaching and managing teams, for as an Athlete in my day" I did plenty of that when I left the playing fields and running tracks. Everyone on my team played, not just the Talented Kids. All my players became talented because they played. We had an incident at a hockey game that badly hurt one of my players and I hauled the whole team off the ice and left the building. I snarled at the brutality, but didn't stop there, I wrote letters, I went to meetings and after a good deal of time our league changed and were not so violent anymore because we changed the rules. Let the kids play and learn - teach them the value of friendship and talent, but for goodness sake, let them play. Sorry Jake missed out on a Deer, but heck, there's always next year, Eh. A delightful peek at life at the farm, all kinds of fun things here and I enjoyed it so much! I can't say I've ever really contemplated buzzard sex, but now you've got me wondering. Ahh the wealth of information we aquire over the years in life! :-)
we've been getting lots of flocks of vultures around the pond for the past 2 weeks or so. they do migrate, so i assumed that's what they're gathering for.
ha kids will def wear you out...sorry he did not get anything this year...all the downed trees, i like their spots....makes me think of cedar which smells good...
Burning parts of blown down trees now in our wood stove , chopped them last year and are in wood shed and wood box in the house . Love the ottoman looks nice ! WOW ! see being retired doesn't mean ya get to R&R much does it ? there is always something to do that you couldn't do whilst you were working out of the home ! There is always next year for that big buck Jake ! Great photos . Have a good day !

Trees downed from ice storms and tornadoes past
have been re-purposed
into fence posts.

I saw many Turkey Buzzards in the air

and on the ground.
Hubby informed me it was breeding season.
Always one to question I wondered
how they could lay eggs this late in the year.
I'm just telling you what he said.
He said they "bond" now and breed
laying eggs early in the year.
You'll have to take his word for it.
No way am I googling Buzzard Sex.
Fair warning...I have believed him many times
and he has fooled me.

Evan Zander became four. I keep him every afternoon between Mom go-to-work time and Daddy come-home time. How in the world did I ever have time to work at a paying job?

Maybe next season Jake will bag himself a deer. He was just warming up this season. Tell him to keep his chin up!
I love the material you used for recovering your foot stool. It looks so inviting. Makes you just want to sit down and take a load off your feet.
Repurposed wood, makes great fence posts. Or forts!!! I used a piece of my repurpose wood for my bird feeder base.
I'll just take Den's word on the buzzards. I'm not a fan of those big ugly birds.
