where is the photo of the unknown woman sitting with Den.. this looks like a wonderful night out for you and for Andrew and everyone there. so glad you had a good night out.. iknow you were bursting with pride for your singing grandson. good news on pretty Asliegh singing in his band.
I hope she just sang the anthem instead of performed it. Seriously, I don't think it needs to be improved upon. Every football game these days has someone making a meal out of the national anthem and I'm sick of it. Just sing the thing, people. LOL Where's the video? Don't we usually get a video? Just sayin'. :) Were you thinking about getting home and changing your clothes? That's what I'm usually thinking when I put on real clothes. :)
If you are like me, putting on a bra means you are dead serious about dressing up. You must have been so proud and I think every band needs a girl singer. Joplin was a huge favorite of mine back in the day. Is a video coming?
Awesome, awesome! I am proud for Andrew and the reputation that he is building as talented musician! Yes, doing what you love makes all the difference. LOL at putting on some fancy duds for the event. Now that I'm home, if I plan on staying inside for the day I don't bother to get dressed at all, just wash my face and brush my hair. Why have another set of clothes to launder? When Papa Bear gets home his work clothes get discarded too, just two old folks in the house clothes with cats sleeping on their shoes! ;-)
It's always good to find a live music band playing that has talent. I've been to too many places (like fairs) where live music is going on and it's all just noise. Not like heavy metal/rock kind of noise, just noise. The speakers are junk and I can't understand what they're saying in the microphone. And yet they'll have people just sit out in droves. I can only figure there all just sitting there drunk.
Sounds like a great night! Wish I could have listened in...

We came to hear Andrew perform as he has on this stage many times in the past. I even dressed in something besides a wife beater's t-shirt and shorts. I wore a bra, makeup, jewelry and real clothes. Andrew did a double take...he wondered who that woman was sitting with Papa.

The MC/Mayor announced that Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Izard County made history this week by becoming the first Purple Heart City and County. After thanking all who have served our nation the MC asked us to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. EVERYONE stood with hands on hearts and pride in their voices. Everyone knew the words. Not one twisted soul "took a knee"! The theater was filled with patriotism and unity. We remained standing for the National Anthem sang by an extremely talented young lady.

Ashleigh Rogers showed us she could sing more than the National Anthem. Ashleigh was amazing with a variety of music but she kicked off her high heeled shoes to perform Me and Bobby McGee...Janis Joplin would have been proud.

The band is called Highway 289 Band while a few members have changed Doc still plays the drums. Lauren and her father, Mike Gray were musical guests, too. You may remember Lauren from a few years ago.

Andrew sang Red House by Jimi Hendrix and Mary Had A Little Lamb by Stevie Ray Vaughhan. There were many complimenting him afterwards. Andrew does love music and thanks to God's gift he is doing what he loves. He was not with his band tonight but there by special invitation since he has sorta grown up in this theater.

It was a fantastic night for all.
Here's a secret...Ashleigh may be singing with Andrew's Band, With Drew.
