You know, I thought I was imagining things. WE have them too. What a year this will be.

Me too on tying them up.

Yep, I had my turn at play with them. They're out of reach now, though. Sigh.

I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea of tying up a bug to a string, but I suppose it is an old habit, a custom even. I guess I can't stand in the way of traditions.

June bugs are a JUNE bug . . . This is some year. Some of our plants look like they are"hiding out" behind their huge leaves. FREAKIN' is what they are doing. Confused, just like I am!

Good grief! We don't have, or rarely has anything that big flown near me. I wish someone had taught me not to be afraid of bugs, but I am! We don't have a huge amount of bugs here in Southern Cal. but enough!
What a great sport that must be to a little boy! A bug on a string...wow! :) Their legs never come off?
Yep, wish someone had calmed me down about those buggies!!

OH my goodness, you have June Bugs in April. Our weather here in Atlantic Canada has just been crazy. No body had to fly south to spend a warm week by a beach. Last week we had soaring temps of 86+ in the back yard the last week of march and usually at this time we are up to our knees still in snow and cold, cold weather.
I am most intrigued about the string on the leg of the June bug - never heard of this before.
Just happened to come across your blog and very interesting - will be back.

On Marlene's recommendation I came by for a visit and decided to stick around. You sound like my kind of people and women our age are a unique brand of person...full of spunk, grit, and a I don't give a rat's butt what anyone thinks.
I'll e back
