You see yourself in sleep differently than the "you" portrayed in real life.

I dreamt last night of being at a mass funeral with a man (unknown) to me. He was burying his teenage son. As the coffin was lowered into the grave, the coffin lid flew open and the son sat up and said: "Hello," grinning from ear to ear. The father whipped out a revolver and was about to shoot the son, but I stopped him. Huh? What did that mean? Although I'd just posted last night about our oldest and dearest cat dying as we arrived home in South Africa this week. I should keep my tablet handy too. Thanks Gail. Thought-provoking post! Jo

no clue what it means. i have weird dreams and some i remember and some not. mostly not. but i do think our sub conscious minds work on problems while we sleep. i have gone to bed trying to figure out how to do something in the computer and woke up the next morning and Bazinga! i knew what to do.

Our daughter is studying geometry this year and my husband helps her daily. It is so funny that when he cannot solve a problem he will sleep on it and wake up in the morning with the answer everytime. Strange huh?

rather profound...who can know why we dream what we dream...sometimes, I believe, they are little gifts from God. Other times, maybe we should skip that second helping of cassarole...

It is said that we also dream our dreams to be prepared for future situations that we may run into. I choose to see them that way now that I know that. I alo think they help us resolve our past problems. I don't know what those words mean that you wrote down. They will only make sense to you. xox

Remember the song "monday, monday" by the mamas n papas?
It was all a dream michelle phillips had. She has no idea what it means.
I think you'd be surprised by how many great creative works have come during sleep.
I've written many wonderful songs while i sleep, but i can never reclaim them just right when i wake.
I've tried the notebook, but it didn't work.
Great post

That is a beautiful verse, maybe you should publish it !!
I never dream unless I'm sick so no tablet beside my bed. Sometimes when I hear people talk about their scary dreams I'm glad I don't dream but you make me wonder what my dream thoughts would be ??

I can't ever pull myself up out of the dream to write it down..but I always remember bits and pieces in the morning. Nothing as coherent as this though.

That is weird. I don't write in my sleep.
I do sometimes remember dreams. Especially if they are science fiction, haha.
I dream of being in places I've been, I don't know if that means I travel or not...

Hope you sleep well tonight, Gail!

The word that flowed into my mind as I read your note was "Writer" - you are supposed to be a writer - well, u are, aren't you - part time anyway. You have way too many thoughts stuffed up there in that brain of yours and they are suffocating to get out. I don't care how you do it, but you have to take the time to let these inner thoughts and feelings flow somewhere in your day or week, you simply have to take the time - give yourself some time on that dreaming porch of yours - give yourself a half hour in early evening - just you n your tablet - see what happens.
On the other hand, Jo's dream made me stop and read again - probably connected to the loss of her cat and she was trying to save it?? I used to leave tablet and pen by bedside as most poems used to come to me when sleeping, but now the poetry still flows pretty well anywhere, so I always carry small pad n paper on person and have stopped many times to get that writing and thoughts down - they come so rapidly, I hardly have time to write. Very interesting post dear Gail.

I agree with what SaucyKod says.

=)

(If I keep a notebook by my bed, I always dream.)

As for poems, I have awakened with many in my head...and I have to hurry like crazy to get them down before they're gone.
