Oh yummy,

Huckleberries, I wonder if they would grow in our dirt? Isn't it supposed to be on the acidic side and somewhat sandy loam? That is something my grandmother used to go for in late August (that's when ours are ready around here) a few of my sibblings actually had the opportunity to share in this memorable event. I'm not sure why I didn't get to go, however, remember my grandma getting herself and one of my brothers lost. I guess, a bear wanted the berry patch they were gathering from, so they wandered off in an unfamiliar direction. Had to enter a farmers pasture with cows, and walked quite a distance before they came upon someone's house to use a phone.

I do love going to pick berries though...

Great, to see you're already getting veggies from your garden. We have a long while before we'll be collecting goodies from ours. (Just got done weeding mine ) things are up and look healthy, just pray the rodent that attacked my corn last year doesn't come visit the garden this year.

Have a good day,
Mel

I've never tried a huckleberry. Do you make jam with them?
Your produce looks so fresh and lovely...like a pretty picture!
