Great photos Gail . . . Is that the food standard for your birds? Maybe I should try it!

Lovely photos ! You have some of the same types of birdies we do . Birds adapt to lots of different types of food really ! All our snow has finally gone and none in forecast so far , the temps are slowly warming up but the winds still carry a chill to them ! Have a good day !

The northern flickers and woodpeckers are so shy, but hang onto my suet feeder until I am almost out there. We have five fresh inches today, but it is melting already, thank heavens. Our ponds are refilling and our water table coming back up. Rain this week.

I did not know you had a little pond... did you make it yourself and are you happy with it?

What a pretty Cardinal! The wild birds around here do an air assault on the dog food that is left out as well as the chicken food!

Geez! You have hardy birds in Arkansas! They eat dog food instead of, or besides, bird seed? Who knew? Brave little souls! Love the photos of the cardinals against that white snow!

Looks like you have enlightened many of us who never knew birds ate dog food. I can't wait to try that.

I am also re-inspired by your water feature.

I am not surprised the birda are eating dog food - after all, most of dog food is corn n chicken parts. We do not feed our dogs "dog food" - Growing up, the dogs got a dish of whatever was on the stove - a dash of potato, veggies, a piece of meat, a piece of bread and either milk or spoon of gravy - they are healthy and happy. I look at the prices of dog food and shudder to think how high the cost is. My dogs have always lived long and healthy lives - My granny called the dog's food "Table Scraps" and the dogs always got fed before the people.
I really like the grey steps and that lovely chubby cardinal. I think that other guy is a woodpecker? Beautiful photo of your pond.
