i don't mind ironing but i don't have anything now that needs it. when i worked i had a few things. i learned with the sprinkler bottle to. and that was after the old wringer washer, that had two rinse tubs and each piece had to go through that wringer 3 times to be hung on the line, brought in and sprinkled and ironed, even sheets and pillow cases and daddy's hankies.
Since I live on my own, there are only a few things I have to iron, and I simply refuse to wear those clothes unless I have no choice. I usually have a choice. My mother ironed everything, even my father's underwear and the washcloths. Luckily, I did not inherit that bad trait. It is a 100F here in the shade. I am dying.
Mmmmm... your tomatoes look fabulous. We have none. We didn't plant our veges, since we knew we would be gone all of July. Maybe next year we'll stay put. What is "busiinglock"??? Every once in a while.... less often than once in a blue moon.... I enjoy ironing. But, that feeling only lasts for two or three blouses. Then, I'm over it. I feel sorry for our ancestors who had so much more to iron.
I haven't ironed for years either ! Neither Papa or I wear cloths that need to be ironed ! All though with the fancy dryers now a days there is no need to iron . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
What a beautiful quilt, Gail! Yet another hidden talent! I not iron either, my iron and ironing board are well hidden in the depths of the store room and likely covered with cobwebs. They can stay that way. My mother spent one full day every week and sometimes more, ironing our clothes. That seems like a life to sacrifice, more than I am willing for sure!
I have tomatoes on my windowsill and our growing season is later than yours, but they are coming along. My doggie Jack is eating her breakfast. I have a quilt my Aunti made for me. I DO NOT IRON hehe -have sprinkled and ironed for Mom - the only time I have to iron is when i HAVE to attend something special. Everyone else irons their own. My Mother ironed everything - everything! I have a motorbike and a trail bike. I like "Buttons" comment :) I like you guys too. Have a wonderful day - Hugs to Marcy.
My ironing board serves well as a storage shelf. :)

I remember the sprinkler bottle and the all cotton work clothes. Man.
The only ironing I do now is when I am quilting.
