Happy Birthday dear Maria. You arrived into this world much the same as my second.

I was at a ballgame lettin' Hubs finish the game. I'd sat in the car in labor for almost too long. I was only in labor two hours and the hospital was a little over an hour away. Needless to say...we broke some speed limits!!!

Social Butterfly made it into the word before the Dr. made it to the hospital!!! Heeeheehhe!

God bless and have a great day celebratin' your lovely girl!!! :o)

I had my daughter in 1978, and it was a great day. Natural, as so many of us did back then.

It was painful. And exhilarating.

So worth it.

=)

PS. Happy birthday to your girl! And to you.

What a birthing story, Gail. You sure got there just in time. And it's funny, but I always think of Andrew as your son. Happy Birthday, Maria.

You are so right that things were different back then. My first was born in 1965 and like you I was told to go to the hospital and when I got there I was given something and told that when I woke up later I would have the baby with me. I awoke in the morning still pregnant and they sent me home. A week later it was the real thing. And natural birth too.
I hope your Maria has a lovely birthday. She has some amazing sons.

Happy Birthday (belated) Maria. What a great story Gail - my Sister had her first baby at the traffic circle, with traffic backed up and a police officer directing the traffic, delivered the baby - lot going on in the traffic circle that day. Horns tooted the arrival of the baby as Mum n child whisked away by ambulance. I love these stories.
