You hit the nail on the head, i see it, and i see what you saw and only what you saw. no meaning comes to me... i am sure the artist must know or maybe not
Well..one could come up with a lot on this piece of art. Who knows the answers but the artist..and even then, does he/she? For me, I definitely think it has to do with marriage, that holy union of two souls. I saw Angels but I also saw Satan. The horned one. Depicting evil? Angels, heaven? Love and the death of love? Really interesting.
So many possibilities, in his art and in yours. They go so well with each other... I pray the big hand speaks of every-growing hope. Today, my glass is half-full of winged lines.

Absolutely love your take on the prompt. I love considering the questions you ask, especially the one about even with wings do we fall. Brilliant.
I think this piece of art is giving you a choice - up or down - good or evil - you are stronger when you band together or come together. Some are very close and riding the shore of hell. Satan is encouraging them in and the goodness is beckoning them up to safety out of the stretch of evil ways. I am the one at the top left flying just at the crest of goodness - at least that is how I picture it......or on the other hand it could be......VERY WELL DONE GAIL - READ YOUR POEM A FEW TIMES AND GOT YOUR FEEL OF THIS. Greetings n hugz to Marcy, TM n family xo
You askedsome of the questions I’m sure many of us have in our heads, and I like the way you take it from the persepctive of the viewer in the gallery.
Loved the approach and your delivery of raising questions. The painting itself poses the impossible scenario of such a marriage and raises a lot more questions than it answers . . . :) Eddie

For the prompt at Magpie TalesVisit Tess and share a poem.
To be inspired.
I waited for the art
To shout
It's message
In black and white
Angels falling
People laying dead
Within fire
Riding the cross
Was the single
Wingless one
Did the joined circles
Mean eternity
Or the ring given
Mean a holy union
It's a maze to find your way
With a pencil lead
Could it be the hopelessness
Of the human condition
Did the artist mean to imply
Even with wings we fall
I am in the dark
So I delete

You ask some good questions. Not sure I know what that picture means either.

These last lines are my absolute favourite. Beautifully penned.

Chaos? Madness? A thought-provoking image to be sure. Well captured by your words.

Really enjoyed reading your process, which turned out to be the poem itself.
Kinda perfect. And as usual, loved your ending.
=)
