Have to say I love my Kitchenaid too. If you ever feel the need to turn it over or on it's side to clean it, return it to the upright position as soon as possible, as it will leak oil. According to Kitchenaid support, there is no way to replenish it, but at least it's food grade :) It happened to me several years ago and the mixer is still running strong.

Thanks for that Keith! In fact my second hand Kitchenaid arrived on its side. There was no sign of leakage, however, since you've had this problem I'm not willing to take the risk. I'm told my Kitchenaid will last me 25 years. I intend to do everything to make that a reality. Cheers!

Petrina.

I have a kenwood patissier I found how to ajust the beater height so it can now whip one egg but I'm buying a brevile scaper mixer second hand despite it though i just notice a kitchen aid add for about 200 though i've soughta committed to the brevile i feal a bit dishartend noticing a decent mixer at a price I can afford. My favorit Ice Cream Flavour is Rose petal. I recommend the book from gelato messina for ice cream recipes there awesome.
I would love to be able to get one of these
