They are indeed the same aircraft. The Me262 was borrowed in the early 2000s by "The Me262 Project" to be used as a pattern in making their replica Me262s. In exchange for the Navy loaning them the aircraft, it was restored to the static display you see today.

Once the restoration was completed it was returned to Willow Grove and remained on display (indoors) at the Wings of History Museum until the base official closed in 2011. At that time the aircraft was moved to Pensacola. This despite the museum remaining open and vibrant.
