Echoes of another America, long ago and far away. I knew a Ranger veteran who had been at D-Day and this was his favorite song. Glenn Miller used to play this for the Armed Forces Radio out of England. It was popular with both American and German soldiers and was an important part of our psychological operations against the morale of the Wehrmacht. In German:
