A decade or so ago, I seem to recall several occasions where Sy Hersh reported the imminent invasion of Iran by Bush/Cheney. Best I can tell, that invasion never came to be.
When it comes to reporting, it's been a long, long time since Hersh has delivered a bulls eye. And I give his Obama reporting now about as much credence as his Bush/Cheney tales.

Maybe some time in WWII, but not since.
Never give any gov the benefit of any doubt. I have no reason to doubt Sy Hersh, on the other hand.

The entire purpose of Iraq and Afghanistan, aside from the obvious need to deal with the Taliban and fellow travellers was, Iran.
Nearly everyone realizes the threat level posed to the entire world now, although for decades we ignored the obvious threat as if it would go away. It didn't and it is much stronger now than ever before, and our shithead commie president and friends, want this way, especially if they can produce nuclear weapons with at least a regional range (they have, and more).
Iraq and Afghanistan were a pincer move on Iran. The Democrats and media finally recognised it, and stopped it by means of a cooperative and organised effort. Remember how they were for the war and then suddenly against it? Remember how they used every Vietnam propaganda tactic over again?
Anything for the cause and that cause is Marxist power and control, no matter what words they are using today or any other.
