GOP? How about NRA?!
This right here is the rational, logical OUTCOME of the pure IDIOCY of the ANTI second amendment position called STATE PREEMPTION.

"This week’s ruling “means that more gun crimes will be solved, more lives will be saved and California communities will be safer,” said a Friday statement from Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, who authored the 2007 amendment when he was a state Assembly member."

Um.... I doubt it.

What it means is additional expense at all levels of the distribution chain for new semi-auto handguns in Kaleeforneea, more expense in police labs and IT departments tracking and checking expended shell casings, more handgun companies pulling out of the marketl, and an increase in revolver demand by "da boyz in da hood".

And I suspect it will generate at least some demand for files, Dremel tools, and/or emery paper to remove those pesky microstamping features.

"First of all, Ms. Kimberly Mueller was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2010. So much for gun rights being important to the GOP."

Far be it from me to defend the quislings who are calling themselves Republican senators nowadays, but unless I'm remembering things incorrectly, the Democrats had control of the Senate in 2010. Wikipedia says the judge's nomination was confirmed in the lame-duck session at the end of 2010.

Citizen: BANG! [picks up case]
"There you are, Officer..."

I guess now we'll have to smuggle ammo into CA.

Many crime guns have been stolen, nit legally transferred. If you are a criminal committing a crime with a stolen micro-stamped weapon, then the crime is still not traceable to you but a previous owner. As Hillary Clinton would ask, "What difference does it make?"
